BA4 training — instructed person
For employees who work near electricity.
BA4 does not turn someone into an electrician. It helps employees recognise electrical risks, understand what they may and may not do, and respond correctly when something is unsafe.

What BA4 means
BA4 means “instructed person”. In practice, this is someone who has received enough instruction about the electrical risks linked to their tasks, or someone who works under the supervision of a BA5 skilled person.
The training helps participants recognise dangerous situations: direct or indirect contact, damaged cables, open distribution boards, wrong actions at circuit breakers or residual-current devices, work in electrical rooms, and situations where they must stop and report first.
When BA4 is usually needed
Working near electrical installations
For example cleaning, painting, facility tasks or maintenance in areas where electrical risks are present.
Access to technical rooms
Employees who can approach electrical rooms, distribution boards or installations need to know the limits.
Small tasks or supervision
Think of replacing lamps, resetting a breaker or carrying out simple tasks under BA5 supervision, depending on internal agreements.

- low voltage, electrical rooms and distribution boards
- direct and indirect contact
- electric shock, fire, short circuit and overload
- protection: breaker, fuse, residual-current device, earthing
- safety distances, signage and barriers
- personal protective equipment and suitable tools
- what a BA4 person may and may not do
- basics of lock-out/tag-out and de-energised work
- emergency procedure in case of accident or suspicious situation

How Anton teaches it
The classic format can be half a day or a full day, depending on the audience, prior knowledge and required depth. For groups with little time, Anton can split the track: preparation first, then live refresher and test.
What the training aims for
Participants do not need to reproduce every theory point afterwards. They need to make safe decisions: may I do this, should I call someone, does the installation need to be de-energised first, and what do I report to my responsible person?
For employers. A training attestation is not the same as the formal BA4 competence assignment. The employer decides, based on its own installation, risk analysis, tasks and procedures, for which work someone is considered BA4-instructed. Parigo supports this with training, testing and documentation.
Possible approach
Classroom / group
On site or via Zoom, in one block or spread over sessions. Guide price on the homepage: €1,000 total per group.
Flex
Self-study in short modules, reminders, live refresher with Anton and then the test. In development.
Refresher or coaching
